Headphones really do wonders for the musical experience. I have been hearing a lot of London singer Hannah Yadi and her demo Guillotine, but I never really thought much of the song. But then this morning with my headphones on and coffee in hand, I came across her Demo once again and decided to give it a listen. Turns out I need to listen on my headphones more often rather than these mediocre computer speakers. The raw emotion of Yadi’s vocals are quite apparent in this track, with similarities to Marina and the Diamonds. It’s a cheery pop anthem, that I’m sure many of you will enjoy.

It’s still summer

I have a habit of not posting things when I put it in my folder of “BLOG POSTS”

So here’s a delayed one. My summer anthem from NZ folks The Naked & Famous. Which was featured in the amazing playlist The Transplants II.

Hang With Me

She just might be the soundtrack to my entire year. And I’m okay with that.

I’m going to have to change my underwear. There is a small chance I just found my favourite album of 2010. Yes, that’s saying a lot… but I don’t really care. I had first heard a Ceo (Eric Berglund of Tough Alliance) track back at the end of May, and paid little attention to it as I do most new songs I hear. But today I decided I’d check out the album after hearing a lot about them. It’s a powerful pure pop prowess (now that’s an alliteration!) behind this , and its fantastic. It’s a little bit chillwave with a mix of Passion Pit and a hell of a lot of Delorean. It’s the beach after 6 beers and a joint with the urge to dance however you want. It’s not for everyone, but it does me right.

“Come With Me”

Everything Is Gonna Be Alright” (Bonus Track)

Or you could just call it post-chillwave.

Picasso Trip

I’m trying something new out. I have tons of music that I want to share, but writing a post for every single song is a little bit daunting. SO, weekly, or just whenever the fuck I feel like it I will be posting songs that have flown threw my ears that I feel you will enjoy. That’s a lie, I don’t feel like you’ll enjoy anything. I just like it… so obviously it’s good.

Open up them ears

Gobble Gobble – Wrinklecarver

Monarchy – It Must Be Love

Luxury Living – Kimberley

Jamaica – I Think I Like U 2

I’d live there if it sounded like this.

I just died. Yup. Dead.

Dom sun bronzed greek gods

Neon Gold said it best …

It basically sounds like Fear of Tigers producing that first Passion Pit EP, which as you can imagine is pretty much the best thing ever.

They are talking about synth-pop newcomers Dom. Don’t ask me anything about them, cause I’ve got nothing to tell you, I can’t really get a hold of any information on them. The lead track off their upcoming EP Sun Bronzed Greek Gods is killer, beyond killer really. I don’t want to talk about it anymore, It’s just fantastic. Stop reading and start listening.

Living In America – Dom

She’s back!

5 years ago, Robyn released her self-titled album Robyn, a surprise ‘come-back’ from the 90’s ‘Show Me Love’ pop-star. Robyn gave a new voice to the electro pop scene, and a fantastic voice at that. I could not get enough of ‘Robyn’ when it came out, and have been waiting years for her to release some new material… and it looks like 2010 is the year for it. Robyn has decided to make all of us fans shoot a load with excitement. She’s not only releasing one album in 2010, but three. Yes, three. And with no surprise the leaked tracks are amazeballs. Dance dance dance, that’s all you really need to do. I can’t wait for these albums to be released, but I am happening listening to these tracks in the meantime, particularly this one..
